6 Months!!!
Well since I last wrote I have finished working outside the home, but my work is obviously never done. I love being a full time stay at home mom, but man, I am tired at the end of the day, and Jonathan isn't even that old yet and not moving very far on his own. So, I'm sure it will just get busier and busier from here on! It hasn't helped that he is still only sleeping about 7 hours before waking up at night, then will sleep another 3-4 after eating, but that early morning sleep just isn't the same after being woken up.
We have been working on some backyard renovation projects. We (as in my husband and brothers, I'm a good mgr and planner, not do-er) :) tore out most of our back deck and the patio that was laid down with cement pavers last weekend. IT didn't take them long at all to take it out, but then the harder work came in levelling the ground and getting it ready for sod to be laid down. WE dn't have a huge backyard, but I realized that it was really chopped up and would be much more useful, especially for having a little boy, to play in if it were all grass. And decided better to do it this year rather than wait til next, so let the ground take root and start to enjoy now! WE got the sod and laid it down today. I did help with that, thankfully JOnathan has slept through the majority of the project this afternoon, allowing me to help (much to my dissapointment. :) ). I am excited to have the play space!
Jonathan turned 6 months this week, amazing to watch him grow - I think I always say that, but it's true! We did his 6 mo shots this week, and he reacted more strongly this time, and tensed up right before the shots, but it was also in the afternoon during his nap, so that didn't help either. And again, I am thankful to have a wonderful mom to come with me to hold Jonathan during the shots, so I can leave. :) My goal is to stay in there sometime, maybe next time. ;)
He is now 17# and 27" long. He is very healthy and is moving into his 9 mo sized clothing. I can still get him in some of the 6 mo stuff, but am realizing if I don't start putting him in the 9 mo stuff soon, some of it he will outgrow before wearing it !
We are still trying to do the rice cereal, but it has yet to be successful, when I get a spoon of it to his mouth, he "blows raspberries" with his mouth, spraying the cereal everywhere. I try not to laugh at him too much, but it really is hilarious!!!
He is now rolling everywhere, I will leave him in the middle of the living room floor, and he makes it to the kitchen floor, under chairs, wherever he can go. I am sure he will be sitting up soon, and I would guess crawling won't be far after that.
WE are looking forward to having famliy visit in the next couple of weeks, hoping that the goegeous weather we've had so far this year holds up. It was 75-80 degrees here last weekend for Memorial Day, which was amazing!!
hmmmm having issues with pictures, so for now, you just get to read! :)
